About Us

Kismet UK came about from an idea that was first conceived by our founder, Dil Sidhu, in 1999 to create a community website that supported and created opportunities for the UK Asian community. This idea was shelved in 2000 as a result of the adverse climate for Internet related ventures.

In that time Dil has served the Asian community as a Committee Member, President and Non-Executive of the YPs (Young Punjabis). In 2001 Dil started fund-raising for Asha for Education and in 2002 became an active volunteer helping raise over £20,000 through various events. It was in this capacity that he became the main organiser from Asha for the ASPN ASHA Ball at the Radisson SAS Portman on 31st May 2003 (Dil and Kismet UK do NOT have any affiliation with ASPN).

Therefore, in the past 4 years alone, Dil has helped organise 4 Black Tie Balls and dozens of other events including weekends away, dinners, drinks evenings, parties and cultural events. All of this was done on a purely voluntary basis and helped provide the insight, friends and contacts needed to set-up Kismet UK. Some of these people have come on board to assist with and ensure the success of the Kismet UK project.

Kismet UK is run by a small team, many of whom work on a consultancy or part-time basis, to provide Social & Professional Networking opportunities to the UK Asian community through a fully featured interactive website and high quality events.

We are not just another dating or matrimonial site, we are about bringing people together so that they can interact and network to enrich each area of their life according to their needs.

We offer the opportunity to make new friends, enhance our professional life and take part in fun group activities including attending our wide range of events. For those of us that are single, it is more likely that through this range of activities and the connections we make, we will meet our partner according to our Kismet.
