@ The Millennium Gloucester Hotel, Kensington
4 -18 Harrington Gardens, London, SW7 4LH

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How many people will be attending the Diwali Ball?
A: We are expecting over 300 people.

Q: Is this a religious event?
A: Although the event marks Diwali, it is not meant to be religious. Just as most Asians who are not Christian still celebrate Christmas in some way or other, this is another time of celebration focused on Asian culture but anyone is welcome.

Q: What kind of people will be attending?
A: Young professionals that like to party and celebrate in style! There will be people from different backgrounds mainly in the 25-45 age range.

Q: What’s the format for the evening?
A: The evening kicks off at 7.30pm with a drinks reception in the Conservatory, during which you can mix and mingle, while enjoying a range of delicious canapés as a first course. After this you will be seated at around 9.00pm, according to the pre-arranged table plan, for a main course served at the table. Dessert and coffee will be served from separate stands so you have time to digest the two courses before attacking these at your leisure! This also gives you longer to dance. In between courses we have lots of entertainment lined up and after dinner you still have a few more hours to mix, mingle and dance the night away until 2.30am!

Q: What kind of food will there be?
A: In keeping with the Diwali theme the food will be mainly Indian & Asian inspired dishes. The substantial canapés will be served from 8.00 pm onwards so you won't have to wait for food!

Q: What entertainment do you have lined up?
A: We have not completely finalised our line up yet but there will be live singers and dancers as well as the highly acclaimed DJ Nicksta & the Obsession Crew doing their own mixes and pumping your favourite Bollywood, Bhangra & Western dance grooves until 2.30AM.

Q: How is the seating arranged?
A: In tables of 10. If your group is smaller than this you will be put with others. If you want to sit with others that have booked separately then please email your request to seating@kismetuk.com quoting names and all the booking numbers at least 48 hours before the event.

Q: Have you organised these kind of events before?
A: Yes, we have organised numerous Black Tie Balls at 5* and 4* deluxe venues in London and internationally as well! This is the 4th Kismet UK Diwali event and LAST YEAR WE SOLD OUT 2 WEEKS IN ADVANCE!

Q: How strict is the dress code?
A: It is a black tie event but if you don’t have a formal dinner suit, a smart suit and tie is acceptable or you can of course dress in Asian costume in keeping with the Diwali theme!

Q: Will it be formal and stuffy?
A: Absolutely not! It is an opportunity to really let your hair down and have some fun! Dressing up just makes it a better class of fun!

Q: Is it for couples or single people only?
A: Not at all! Most people book in groups of friends, including couples and singles.

Q: Can I attend on my own?
A: Some people have booked on their own and we will introduce these people to others and put them together so that they can quickly make friends.

Q: Can I get my ticket at the door?
A: Tickets are in advance ONLY and there will be NO ticket sales at the door.

Q: When is the latest that I can book?
A: We will continue to sell tickets as long as these are available, subject to time and other organisational constraints. With an event such as this we need to provide the hotel and caterers with numbers in advance so you should book your tickets now if you are interested in attending. Even if we do have tickets available we reserve the right to levy an extra charge for very late bookings due to the logistical problems involved! Also don't forget this event sold out 2 weeks in advance last year!

Q: Who is Kismet UK membership for and how do I join?
A: Kismet UK membership is open to anyone interested in Asian community and culture and entitles you to discounted tickets to events. We plan to organise a wide range of events to facilitate social & professional networking and to provide lots of opportunities for you to have a great time! Joining is easy and just requires you to register by filling in a short online membership form here.

Q: What is the difference between VIP and Standard tickets?
A: VIP ticket holders benefit from a professional mounted photo which itself is sold for £10, a free glass of bubbly on arrival, the best seats in the house from which to enjoy the entertainment and priority check-in without queuing. This adds up to much more than the £10-£15 difference in price.

Q: Is there a hotel package?
A: Yes, we have a hotel package with the venue itself at £120 per person including standard tickets and £130 per person including VIP tickets. This is based on 2 people sharing. Other details are available on request.

Q: Why are tickets so expensive?
A: The Millennium Gloucester Hotel is a sumptuous, 4* star deluxe, central London venue with a unique Conservatory area and newly refurbished Ballroom, our caterers are also the best in the business and quality costs! A similar wedding package would cost over £50 per head and a meal at a classy restaurant followed by a night of clubbing until 2.30am can easily cost the best part of £100, therefore we are offering excellent value at the price!

Q: Can I get a discount?
A: If you are booking a full table of ten you will get a discount of at least £4 per head. Apart from this there are sponsorship packages available which offer great value for money.

Q: How can I get free tickets?
A: By recommending all your friends to us! We have given away dozens of tickets worth thousands of pounds! Those people that recommend the highest number of new people win tickets but we also have a random prize draw with one entry for each person that you recommend. Either way, the more people you recommend the better your chance of attending for free! People who make large bookings could also qualify for complimentary tickets.

Q: How can I book tickets?
A: Just call the bookings hotline on 0871 271 4080 or 0772 300 8393 for more information or book online here.
